Applegate School Waystation

Partnering with longtime monarch conservationist and Southern Oregon Monarch Advocate Linda Kappen, these students at Applegate School install a “waystation sign” from Monarch Watch’s national registry of monarch waystations. This accomplishment crowns the longtime efforts of these dedicated Applegate students on behalf of monarch conservation, and SOMA could not be more pleased with their endeavors and success – WAY TO GO KIDS! You also can register a waystation nationally through Monarch Watch at your own home or school, by visiting the following link: http://www.monarchwatch.org/waystations/waystation_application.pdf

Talent Outdoor Discovery Program

After an educational day with Southern Oregon Monarch Advocates Robert and Simone Coffan, students of the Talent Elementary School "Outdoor Discovery Program" help SOMA to “tag and release” a healthy male monarch- the first one ever, from the new monarch waystation at the Coyote Trails Nature Center in Medford in Fall of 2015. Keep up the great work!

The Medford library was kind enough to let SOMA display some Monarch gear for the youth of Southern Oregon. The display was located in the childrens section of the Medford public library.
